CalcTrip ("the Service") is a travel calculator usable anonymously without an account. This policy explains what data the Service collects, uses, and stores, and your rights. Our core principles are anonymous-first, local-first, and data minimization.

1. Information we collect

  • Anonymous device identifier (random) — not a fingerprint; used per device only.
  • Device context (platform, browser family, time zone, language, app version) — coarse, for analytics/quality.
  • Usage records: calculations, expenses, trips, places, price observations, nickname — synced anonymously to improve price data.
  • Location (coordinates) — only with consent, to link prices to places. The Service works if declined.
  • If you sign in: social profile (email, name, profile image).
  • Analytics: usage events and performance metrics (PostHog).
  • Cookies: session, device token, (admin) session.

2. What we never send to the server

Photos you capture or pick are stored only on your device (and saved to your gallery), regardless of whether you are signed in — image bytes are never uploaded. Precise location is not collected without consent.

3. How we use data

Provide the service (calculation, exchange rates, settlement), build anonymous aggregate travel price data, improve quality/performance, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

4. Retention

You can reset local data on your device. Anonymous server data is kept as needed to operate the service; raw event/performance data is aggregated and deleted after a defined period (finalized at launch).

5. Third parties

We use sign-in (Google, Facebook), analytics (PostHog), hosting (Vercel), a managed Postgres database, and an exchange-rate provider, each processing data only for its purpose.

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data and withdraw consent — via local reset, account deletion (cascading server deletion), or the contact above.
